A brand new team for girls aged 8 to 14, with a first session completely free
We are thrilled to announce the launch of a brand new girls’ cricket section at Wallasey CC for the 2026 season.
Girls aged 8 to 14 of all abilities are welcome to come along, try the sport, and be part of something exciting from the very beginning. Whether your child has never held a bat or is already playing, our girls’ section offers a fun, safe and supportive environment to learn, grow and make friends.
Building on Our Women’s Success
The launch of girls’ cricket is the next step in Wallasey CC’s remarkable growth story. Just five years ago, we had no women’s cricket at all. Today, our women’s section has over 45 players and is one of the fastest growing in the region. The girls’ section creates a clear pathway from beginner to competitive cricket, feeding directly into that thriving women’s programme.
What to Expect
Training takes place twice a week. Girls can join Friday evening sessions alongside our junior section from 5:30pm, and Monday evening sessions alongside our women’s section from 6pm to 8pm. Both sessions are held at KJM Oval, our home ground on Rosclare Drive, Wallasey.
All cricket equipment is provided, so there is nothing to buy to get started. Just bring trainers, comfortable clothing and a water bottle.
All our coaches are ECB qualified, DBS checked, safeguarding trained and experienced in coaching girls’ cricket. Membership for the full season is £90, covering all training and matches.
Come and Try It for Free
We know trying something new can feel daunting, which is why we are offering every new girl a completely free first session with no commitment required. Come along, have a go, and see if cricket is for you.
A Big Thank You
Our girls’ section is proudly supported by Baked, whose generous sponsorship is helping make girls’ cricket a reality at Wallasey CC. We are enormously grateful for their support.
